ABOUT

American Trail is a short-game about migration from the perspective of a kid.

You play as Alfonso, who along with his Abuela must venture inside a train going north to meet his parents after losing their home to a flood.

Travel through the Scorching Desert, the Floded Oil-Swamp,
the Frozen Mountains to reach the Spring Fields. 
Help Alfonso to endure against the elements and fullfill Abuelas needs.

HOW TO PLAY

Abuela has needs, help her with what she needs and go buy it!
Talk to people and engage with their stories in order to obtain some dollars!

This game was made in over a week for
Just Play 2024 - a game jam for climate futures.

Its purpose is to bring awareness in a lighthearted and hopeful way, about a topic of the past, the present and the future: migration.

But, especifically, migration related to Climate Change.

Floods, Tornados, Wildfires, Droughts and so much more devastates people around the world, and some of them can't rebuild and needs to relocate.

Best enjoyed with headphones.
